what were you doing six years ago today?

i am curious as to what everyone was doing when this all happened. i will never forget! i was in the middle of teaching the bible lesson for the day to my first grade class. i got a phone call from eli so stepped out into the hall to take it. he told me what had happened as i looked up and down the hall here came my kids parents with balloons and cupcakes. what a bitter sweet celebration. it is awesome when someone wants to celebrate your day, escpecially a bunch of loving first graders. but to celebrate in the midst of such horror and trajedy was hard. the rest of the day was spent with coloring and various useless activities. that evening eli and i found ourselves at red lobster trying to have a nice dinner to celebrate but every tv was focused on what had happened that morning. then the gas scare hit and wouldn't you know i honestly had to have gas to get home. so there i was siting for 2 hours just so i can make it home. not trying to stockpile just wanting to make it home.

so please share with me where you were and what you were doing.

who decided how christians are supposed to act...

i read this blog today and it got me thinking about the way i act during worship and the way i see others acting. sometimes i catch myself being annoyed when someone comes in in the middle of the third song and make a big scene instead os slipping in quietly and joining in. after reading this it kind of puts me in my place and i should just remain in my little world during worship and not pay attention to what everyone else is doing. please read the following blog entry: SimplyJosh

here they are!

ellie is so excited! she watches their every move and updates to everyone in the house as to what they are doing. the dark one is buzz and the light colored one is woody. oh and yes they are both girls!

what am i getting myself into

thanks to the ford hamster breeding farm, ellie is getting her first pets today. yes she is getting 2, both female, ellie wants to name them buzz and woody. i figured she would pick princess names, oh well. i will post pictures later when we actually have buzz and woody in our possesion. mommy insisted on the cool hamster habitat instead of the regular wire cage or 10 gal. aquarium. watch for pics to come.

'cause julie pekkala taught me to.

we are sitting at home watching the bucks beat youngstown. silas is walking around the house in his walker, talking and rolling his toungue. ellie is playing. next thing i know ellie has silas cornered and she is spitting in his face. i said ellie why are you doing that and i got the reponse "'cause julie pekkala taught me too." ha, ha, i can't tell you home many times i get that response. it's like julie is her imaginary friend that teaches her to do things she isn't supposed to do. ellie loves julie and talks about her all the time. i am sure among all the things that julie does teach ellie it's not to spit in silas' face.
