i like halloween

i think halloween is fun. decorating pumpkins, dressing up, trick or treating, fun parties. i know some people believe it is the devils day but isn't really what you make it out to be. for me halloween was always the fun dressing up, eating candy, bobbing for apples, ect... it wasn't till much later in life that i learned that people really use halloween to do bad things. hopefully can remain innocent and just have fun on halloween and enjoy the activites that i did.

Toby Mac

eli and i along with the other youth leaders took the youth to see toby mac sunday in grove city. i enjoyed it a lot. barlow girl opened for toby mac, i thought they were a little loud. you couldn't really understand them on most of their songs. toby mac was awesome. eli hates toby mac with the exception of the song irene. so he and steve went and had coffee during the concert. mason was making fun of me because i was singing along with toby mac. oh well to each his own i like toby mac. he preformed jesus freak and in the light. oh how i miss dc talk. they were a great band.
so after the concert i was taking chloe to find a band aid. chloe and elizabeth were right against the stage so in all the jumping some stepped on chloe's foot and bused her blister. anyways, i suddenly hear someone screaming (oh i can't believe i am about to say this) jenny rodgers, jenny rodgers, over and over. (i don't like the name jenny for my self) so i turn around hmmm this guy comes walking up to me and starts talking like we are long lost best friends. hmmmm i didn't recognize him! there is one person that it may have been that i used to go to church with but i don't think the bone structure in his face was the same. i dunno he obviously knew and remembered me. how weird!
anywho, it was a great concert! i was a little disappointed that toby mac didn't climb up and do flips off the speakers like i have seen him do before. oh well.
but i think the best part of the evening was the ride home. we had some great conversations in the van. i drove and i have jenny taylor, sarah cornish, baily deiner, chloe nickel, and elizabeth ryan. i am so glad that those gals were in my vehicle and we had a chance to connect and get to know one another better. we really had a chance to discuss some interesting topics and we got a glimpse of one another's heart. thanks girls for being open and willing to share yourselves with me. i had fun. we must talk again. maybe we need to take another drive and go shopping or another concert, you guys decide i'll drive.

why can't we love without judging

is being a good Samaritan also about stopping for those who hide there cuts and hurts? or is it just about helping those who are openly hurting and in need.

people wear masks, we all do. some of us put on a mask depending on where we go or what we are doing. maybe we are not fully aware of our masks but we all have them. i have masks, i don't want everyone to see my hurt. i had a lot of masks in college. i wore the good girl mask when i went home. when i went out with my sorority sisters i wore the party girl mask, and when i went to bible study i wore the i love Jesus mask.

why are we so hard on people who put on masks and act one way somewhere but when they get around certain people they act another way. As someone who used to wear masks and still does to some extent do or did i really believe that no one could see or does see through the mask. and do people really believe no one can tell when they have a mask on?? and whether we wear masks or others do, does it really matter??

shouldn't we love one another even if we don't condone their actions?

some people, including myself, get in their mind that they know how someone should act or react to a situation. and when we react differently people get all upset because our reaction or actions don't fit their beliefs, morals, or plan for us. can't we just live our own lives and lovingly convey to someone when we are concerned for them instead of kicking them in the heart??

MAYBE WE JUDGE OTHERS SO THAT WE CAN DEFLECT THE ATTENTION AWAY FROM OURSELVES SO THAT OUR UGLINESS AND HURTS CAN STILL BE HIDDEN.

now i am not saying that it is okay for our fellow Christians to do what they please. we don't have to condone their actions just love them and accept them not their actions.

if i mess up and don't react or act as you think i should please still love me. and please love your neighbor to spite their mishaps.

(sorry the first sentance didn't make sense. I had 5 minutes to blog before we left to see Toby Mac)

it's anna's fault

so last night we are sitting around watching the office, talking, and each one of us on our macs. i wish someone had been there to take a pic, ellie was already in bed. anna pipes up and says "why don't you include silas in your blog title?" "i feel sorry for him everytime i see your blog." guess i had just never thought about the title of my blog. so i just said i could put silas' milk bar, everyone laughed. eli thought it was great. so there it is atleast for another month. then i guess it will have to be changed again. if it offends, i would say sorry but i say i am sorry for everything even when it's not my fault, oh well it's the truth.

9 months and 3 years

they are so beautiful! i know i am partial cause i am the mamma but just look at them. don't get me wrong i know there are other beautiful kids too. i know sometimes i get frustrated but i do love them bunches. i think my frustration comes from not knowing what to do for silas. ellie was so very different. she didn't complain about a thing. she rarely cried about anything, from getting teeth to falling down stairs. silas on the other hand cries and screams all the time. from running out of food at dinner to me walking out of the room. wow how different they are, how wonderful they are. ellie is so nurturing and loving. silas is so cuddly and on the go. ellie loves babies and using her imagination. silas loves cars and trains. ellie crawled at 9 months and silas crawled at 5 months. i found ellie's first tooth when she was 9 1/2 months. silas very loudly announced the coming of his first tooth at 7 months. ellie is just a neck and a head taller than silas. ellie weighs 30.5 lbs. and silas weighs 19 lbs. at 9 months ellie weighed 14 lbs. wow how different and yet how wonderful. it's funny how quickly silas is catching her in size. ellie started sleeping through the night at 3 weeks. silas on the other hand is still not sleeping through the night. i will give him credit though he sleep till 5:20 this morning, yeah!!!!!!!! yesterday silas had his top two teeth break through. that was not fun!!!!! it's amazing how differently God has made them, how wonderful!
