We Are the World

What a sad day for the Jackson family. I know a lot of people think it's silly that he is being memorialized in such a manner. But think about it would it really be a memorial service for him if it wasn't a big production. Yes, he had his issues but don't we all have issues. His were more evident because of his status in our culture. We all try to hid any issues we have. WE put on a mask and pretend that we are ok. We lie about our life so no one thinks we are bad people. Can you imagine if your every move was made public. No wonder he was messed up. But we cannot over look all the good he did and tried to do.

I grew up listening to his music. I remember when the following song came out. It touched my heart when I was little and today. If we all would take those words to heart this would be a different place. "We are all part of God's great big family and the truth you know love is all we need." How true this line in the song is. WE ALL need love! No matter who we are, where we are from or what we have done, we all need love. Can you imagine if we stopped tearing each other down and started building each other up. Giving people a sense that they are someone special and they have a purpose. I could go on but won't.

Not that I worshipped the ground he walked on but he will be missed. A part of my childhood died.
