the dog smells
Due to the warm weather the dog spent mostly of the day outside on Saturday. When he finally came in he definitely had the I'm a dog and I've been outside for a while. We were watching a movie and Ellie turned around to me and said "I put tissue up my nose so I won't have to smell the dog.
Yes she took little pieces of tissue and stuffed her nose full so she couldn't smell. It took holding her down and some tweezers but at least we didn't have to make a trip to the ER.

NYWC 2008 Thursday
Due to Internet and computer issues I neglected my blog for a little while but I guess now it's time to catch you all up. So I will start with the national youth Workers Convention.
Thursday we were up and at 'em pretty early. We got ready had breakfast and headed to the convention center. We walked around and checked things out and then decided to check in. We were too early, us to early yep that's us. So we headed out of the convention center and walked around the block. i wanted to venture a little further but Eli did not. I won so we ventured down the road towards the river. We had a good time. I met a woman from So. California, she was so happy and nice. Here are so pics of our adventure.
After our adventure and some lunch we headed back to the convention center. By that time we could check in ad I made my name badge and it was time to head to HERstory.
The opening Session of HERstory was given by Jeanne Stevens. She talked about how God had decided that it would be good for me to be a woman. And how we need to be the women that God created us to be.
The first breakout session I went to was given by Shauna Nequiest. I was really pumped about this after reading her book Cold Tangerines. We had an intimate conversation about our bodies our girls bodies and what's going on in our heads and how to deal with it all. I learned that we need to learn to be okay with the way God has made us and demonstrate that to the girls around us. Afterwards I had the opportunity to chat with her and get her to sign my book.
There was a Question and Answer Dessert session in the evening. I t was neat how they did it. most of the questions we centered around being single and in a ministry role and how to handle that. But then several of the questions dealt with how to manage having kids and being in the ministry, where's the balance? It was really good. it was also great to hear that there were other women in the room going thru some of the same things I was.
Later that evening there was a concert given by Kendall Payne and Amena Brown.
I am sure the concert was amazing. I stayed for a little bit and what I heard was awesome! For some reason I wasn't feeling good at all. I had nausea, had a headache, ect... So I left, thinking I would go lay down. No, after I left my headache went away, hmmmm. I ended up at the late night with The Johnny Parks Band and Robbie Seay. It was good.

Mason says I'm famous.
I know pride comes before the fall.
But I can't help but think this is pretty cool.
Marko posted on his blog about a picture I took. Check it out here.
One guy commented that the picture was not accurate that there were many more finger rockets on the stage. Well yeah there were! But what he doesn't know is that I took like 20 pictures of the whole 3 minute finger rocket war. I was posting pics on my facebook where you could actually tell who was in the picture and I only posted 2 out of 20.
Oh well, I was there too and whether there were 20 or hundreds of finger rockets it was funny.

Where have I been??
I dunno! No really I don't know why I have neglected in blogging about the things that are happening in my life.
Maybe because my computer has be so slow that I just get very, very frustrated with it. I want it to work now! When I press the button poof something should happen and it doesn't.
Shame on me! Atleast I have a computer that will do what I need it to do.
The past couple of days I have not been able to surf the world wide web. We are guessing it is do to the weather we have had.
Again Shame on me! Internet it's a convience not necessarily a need.
Last night Eli was helping with my computer and he discovered that I have completely filled my external hard drive with music and pictures. I dunno how big it was, I'm sure he will let everyone know in his comment.
All this brings me to my dryer. The Monday before we left for National Youth Workers Convention our dryer went out mid cycle. So in the mean time friends have been helping me out by letting me use their dryers. Thank you guys!! I have some pretty wonderful friends.
Anyways, the past couple of times I have gone to the laundry mat to dry our clothing. I can dry as many loads as there are dryers open and all in 40 minutes. WOW!
I hadn't realized how much I don't appreciate having a dryer in my home. Because it has taught me a very important lesson I am not worried about rushing around and getting it fixed. While it would be nice to have I'm okay with the laundry mat. There are a lot of people there to meet and talk to. People with stories who would like to have someone to share them with.
So maybe it was a blessing that our dryer broke!
